The IFSR Conversation 2018 was held in St. Magdalena, Linz Austria, April 8 to 13, 2018. The overarching theme ('Systems: from science to practice') was the interaction between science and practice in the field of systems sciences, in order to enhance the understanding the role of systems sciences for humans and society. 26 systemists from ten countries formed four teams with the topics:
1. Systems Practice
2. What is Systems Science?
3. Active and Healthy Aging
4. Data Driven Systems Engineering
This proceedings volume contains the reports of the 4 teams together with 3 personals views on Conversations and a historical overview of the evolution and growths of Conversations in general from 1980 to 2018.
Gary S. Metcalf (Hrsg.)
Gary S. Metcalf, PhD, is a faculty member at Saybrook University, in the
Department of Leadership and Management, researching and teaching primarily in MBA and doctoral programs. He is President of Interconnections, LLC.
He served as President/Vice President of the International Federation for Systems Research from 2002 to 2018.
Mary C. Edson (Hrsg.)
Mary C. Edson is a faculty member of the Union Institute & University, Cincinnati, OH, doing research at the intersection of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource
Management, Project Management, and Systems Science. She served as President/Vice President of the International Federation for Systems Research from 2014 to 2018.
Gerhard Chroust (Hrsg.)
Gerhard Chroust is a Professor emeritus from the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria doing research on systemic aspects and human factors in software development and disaster management and human factors. He served as Secretary General of the International Federation for Systems Research from 1993 - 2018
